Remove bestsellers et all from home screen

The whole USB saga has resulted in me updating the Touch HD3 to the latest firmware.

I hate the "Bestsellers", "Latest" and "Book of the day" advertising on the main screen. Is it possible to remove it i.e. turn it off?

99% of the time, wifi is turned off on the device, so it's all pointless anyway (apart from annoying).

I am getting so grouchy in my old age.
