Hi there.
In the process of having a more organized library I spent a lot of time deleting useless identifiers, correcting authors, aggregating series and deleting every tag I found useless in my Calibre library.
After updating the metadata in the TH3 (using that Calibre option) nothing changes. So, I deleted all my library (on the TH3) and bulk uploaded all books from Calibre again.
It's better now, but I still see some tags in "series" (when I browse the TH3 library by series) which I'm absolutely sure I hadn't added in Calibre.

Can someone point me to what I am doing wrong?

just going to buy my first Inkbook... and I wonder if books uploaded from calibre with series name will be created as collections or at least series name will be visible in book name? (there were in Kobo...)

just tried to import books to cloud and there weren't recognized...

Good evening ladies and gentleman!

I am a beginning programmer, who can no longer stand staring at my computer screen for hours.
First thought - Color e-ink reader displaying my windows screen over remote desktop connection.
Color e-ink reader of my choice - Pocketbook color e-ink.
BUT! With price tag of 200$+ I can not risk buying and then saying "oh, it doesn't work, I will just throw it away".

Questions then!
1. Do e-ink readers have access to android market?
2. If yes - can I install any of them? It kinda makes no sense for ebook reader to run a game, so I guess there must be some limits..

I'm currently developing a port of the SGT puzzle collection (see the other thread here in the Developer's Corner).

I found OpenConfigEditor in inkview.h, and this looks like it would make it very easy to implement individual changing of game parameters. I also found examples in various projects at GitHub.

Unfortunately I just cannot get it to work. I am basically using code like this in a test application:

Code compiles without warnings, but the app crashes (I assume segfault) at OpenConfigEditor.

Platform Touch HD 3, newest firmware (6.1.900)

I know that the format of iconfigedit changed, above code should be according to the new format.

Furthermore, for testing what is going wrong I added a Message(...) directly after OpenConfigEditor(...), then the behaviour got even stranger. Then it indeed showed a screen containing one entry "Difficulty Easy", below was the string "Game difficulty" in a weird huge font, and the reader froze. No reaction anymore, needed a hard reset.

OpenConfigEditor is definitely the culprit, when I comment out this line the app continues, so OpenConfig executes successfully.

I also tried various combinations of setting some of the callback functions to NULL, also played around with entries in myconfigedit, all in vain.

Any hint what I am doing wrong?

So on my Pocketbook Touch HD 3 keyboard, there is no pipe symbol (it looks like this: | ). This is a problem because the wifi password has that symbol in it, and I cannot connect to the network. Do any of you know how to get that symbol, because I already asked my parents to change the wifi password and they wouldn't. Thanks!

When I try to copy over a book with Adobe Digital Editions from the library, I get an error saying that the book is damaged or I don't have permission or something. But when I copy over 2 books at a time, this doesn't happen. Does anyone have a solution for this? (btw I already authorized my device in adobe digital editions and I have a pocketbook touch hd 3.)

So I was trying to get some library books onto my device with Adobe digital editions, and then for no reason when i plugged the cable it stopped showing up in digital editions, but it still shows up in file explorer. Does anyone know any fixes, i already tried uninstalling and reinstalling.

Hello, everyone.
I use PocketBook reader and tend to move books between collections a lot, but I found out doing it from the device itself is not very comfortable. So I made an app to manage them from the computer. I though someone here may be interested in it too. I'm very new to coding, so any criticism will be appreciated.

I only tested it on my device, which is Pocketbook 627 (Touch Lux 4). I also heven't figured yet how to package it for something other then Windows. I'll probably get here later.

Hi,

I used the corona lockdown time to port the famous Simon Tatham's Portable Puzzle Collection to my Pocketbook Touch HD 3.

This week I finally implemented the last missing element needed for a beta relase, and like to share it now:

I ported a total of 48 puzzles, including a sudoku with many variations, minesweeper, slitherlink, and dozens of other less known logic puzzles.

Released under the MIT license, so completely free and open source, I have no commercial interest at all, only personal enthusiasm.

If anybody finds bugs or has ideas for improvement, please comment here, or open an issue at GitHub.

(edit) I'm especially interested in reports how the app is working on devices other than the Touch HD 3, like if the screen layout is still ok etc.

So far, I received reports that the app works with these devices:

PB632 - Touch HD 3
PB631 - Touch HD / Touch HD 2
PB740 - InkPad 3

Hello,

Just registered to this forum and this is my first post. I have owned a Pocketbook HD3 for about a year now and I am really pleased with it. However, there is one thing that I do not like: the library entries. I have the feeling that I am doing something substantially wrong or that there is some sort of bug.

I edited my books with Calibre (latest version) and made certain that all authors were spelled correctly. When I then check the library of my pocketbook I see that, in many cases, there are several directories for just one author. To mention one: for John Grisham I have three directories: Grisham, Grisham, John and another Grisham, John, although I am certain that I did not misspell his name in Calibre. Also, the number that is shown after the name of the directory (which stands for the number of books in each individual directory, I suppose), are often incorrect.

I have found more than ten authors where this error pops up. Does anyone recognize this? Is there a remedy?

I recently installed KOReader on my Pocketbook touch hd 3, and when I tried to open epub books, there weren't any pages in the book and it said I reached the end of the book. Could anyone please help? Thanks!

I'm thinking of buying a pocketbook reader; probably the new one, with color. But one of the reasons I've stuck with Kobo so long is how well integrated into Calibre it can be with various extensions. Especially adding books to it with collections automatically made.

I have a lot of books, and while they don't always need to always be on the reader, I'd like some of them to be there. So, how are collections or whatever managed by Pocketbook? Thanks in advance!

Hello! My PB 603 has two reading apps installed, AdobeReader and FBReader. The default seems to be AdobeReader. How can I change that to FBReader? The manual doesn't have any information on this.

The default ePub 2 reader of Pocketbook Inkpad 3 (PB740) shows images quite small. This is a problem especially with books that contain graphs and mathematical expressions.

With firmware v.5.20.1010 this was the case for all ePub files.

With firmware v.6.1.1069 this has fortunately improved. The release notes for this firmware version mention that they "Fixed some problems displaying illustrations in certain books in EPUB, DOC, DOCXformat", which might have something to do with this.

Looking at the extensions.cfg and handlers.cfg files in system/config/, it seems that there are now (in firmware v6) several built-in reader apps:

• eink-reader.app
• eink-reader_with_blink.app (PB Reader EPUB 3?)
• eink-reader_with_epub2.app (PB Reader EPUB 2?)

I wonder if "blink" is referring to https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blink_(browser_engine).

Either way, it seems that opening ePub files (even ePub 2 files) with "PB Reader (EPUB 3)" will show all images much larger than "PB Reader (EPUB 2)" did.

"PB Reader (EPUB 2)" still shows images much smaller, in the same way as the default reader in firmware v5 did for all ePub files.

I'm posting this just as a heads-up: if you like your ePub illustrations large, try installing the latest firmware from https://www.pocketbook-int.com/int/s...tbook-inkpad-3 and opening your ePubs with the "PB Reader (EPUB 3)" reader via the library (press and hold on an ePub file).

Hello, I'm trying to be able to access my CBZ/CBR files sorting them by series in the library on an Inkpad 3 (firmware v6.1).

Even if the metadata are all set and uploaded to the device, it doesn't list them in the "series" tab.
What I noticed is that I have to convert the files to EPUB before uploading them on the device for them to be listed as series.

Is this a normal behavior? Can the Inkpad 3 only list EPUB files as series or am I forgetting something?

Hello,

I recently switched from CoolReader to Koreader (because CoolReader was randomly opening my books at the first page instead of where I*was reading, which is quite annoying).

Koreader works great and saves my read statuts but… only for itself.

All my book are displayed at 0% in the Pocketbook library. Even when I*mark a book as read, this has no impact on the Pocketbook.

Am I missing something? Any other Koreader user out there to confirm this behaviour?

Hello,
I recently installed koreader, but I didn't want to set it as default before a test it a little more.

Now I run it in the applications menu, i.e. the pop up one on the bottom.

I wonder if it is possible to:
-put it below, instead of the bookstore one
-be able to choose the reader when I open a book from the library
