Hello, I would like to buy a inkpad 3 .. one great doubt: how is user experience with built-in browser ? Any way to gets feeds (rss atom) on this ?

I heard of the possibility to install apps, is it right ? Do you have any experience of this ? thanks. Lorenzo.

Small Details about Touch HD 2

I'm just about ready to order a Pocketbook Touch HD 2, which I prefer to the upcoming 3. Before I do so, I just want to check that I can use this without ever connecting it to wifi. All books will have to be sideloaded (no wifi).

Can I also create Collections on the device itself without requiring access to the cloud (which is a problem with kindles)?

If it's okay regarding the above, then I'll go ahead and buy it. I've watched videos and love the font customisability, if that's a word, which my old Paperwhite doesn't have. I also love the ability to alter the light temperature.

Not recognized by computer

Since Google failed me, I have to ask here.
The situation:
Computer with Windows 10 after clean installation won't recognize e-readers anymore. This is not limited to Pocketbook, I have Bookeen too and it fails to show up in the computer as well.
Before the clean install everything worked fine so there are no problems with USB ports or cables.
When I plug in the e-reader, the USB-sound is played but nothing else happens. Under PC Management I can see a new drive (e-reader) but it is not initiated and I wouldn't touch it unless I have to. There is no letter assigned to it and it basically looks like an empty drive without partition.
My conclusion is: as the previous Win 10 installation was an upgrade from Windows 8, there must be something (drivers?) Win 8 used to recognize an e-reader as such. After the upgrade it probably stayed in the system and e-readers worked fine. However, a clean install of Win 10 doesn't have this something.
So - what is that SOMETHING and how can I put it back?
(Note: I tried every possible solution I could find - change the cable, different USB ports, re-install of USB drivers, etc.)

How to install .apk on the PB740?

Hi all,

I have a new PocketBook Inkpad 3 (PB740) running FW U740.5.17.1736

I wish to install some apk(s) on the device but so far couldn't find how to do that.

Tried ADBing my way into the system but can't find the famous "enable USB debugging" option in the menus, tried downloading apk directly from the built-in browser and install it but it insists that that this is not recognized book format and does nothing with it.

When connected to the PC I can see all the internal folders.

Can anyone help me?

Dictionary coversion from .mobi to pocketbook format?

Hi, I have a dictionary for use with kindle and it consist of only one file in moby format. Is there a way to make this work with my Inkpad 2. And of course if there is such possibility, would someone be willing to explain me how?

Inkpad3: PB Cloud sync missing

Hi, after updating the firmware on my Inkpad3 (740) the cloud sync feature has disappeared. Previously there was an option in Settings/Accounts and sync -- now it is gone. Does someone have any ideas how to enable this feature again? It used to sync with the app on my phone, now it doesn't. Thank you for your help!

Problem with Pocketbook Inkpad

Hi

After connecting my pocketbook Inkpad to PC, i can apparently remove or add ebooks . But actually removing/adding books has no effect.
Has anyone experienced such an issue? Does it sound a hardware problem? Have you got some ideas?

New Audio Books application

My InkPad 3 makes noices when I load text

Hello, I have a problem with my InkPad 3.Few days ago It suddenly started to make noices when I load a lot of text (so basically when I'm reading a book).When I'm clicking other stuff in menu for example its quiet.Those noices are obviously coming from inside from under the buttons.It may seem like nothing but It really annoys me. Does any of you know how to fix it?

Change frontlight steps when sliding up/down

When I change the frontlight setting by sliding the finger up/down one of the sides, the change seems to always be 10%.

Is there some way to change this? Just to 5 would be ok, but even smaller would be great.

(I'm using Inkpad 3 (5.19.542) if that makes any difference.)

Restore books on Pocket book touch lux 3

I own a Pocket Book Touch lux 3 (626)
I have many books on my SD card and when reading i am doing a lot of highlights.
Sometime i go back rereading a book and editing my highlights.
I restore to factory yesterday because the highlight process was getting very sluggish.
Before doing restore i backed up the folder “system” from the root directory.
When restarting the unit I restored on the root directory the “system” folder.
All my book are still available but all highlights disappeared. I am not able to get my old highlights back. What i should do?
On the SD card i was also periodically backing up. Maintenance/backup and recovery.
If go to restore configuration, pick last backup, I CANNOT RESTORE.
On PC i unpacked the file backup_141218.tgz into .zip file, but I do not to do with the content.
I also looked at the folder “active content”, and i have there only the highlights for every book in .html.
In conclusion I can i restore back all my books with all higlits.
There is a way to read the backup_141218.zip , into an externar reader on a PC? pockedt book reader, coolreader or other?

PB Touch Lux 4 quick battery dive

I have a Touch Lux 4 device for a month.
Firmware is the latest.
If I set it to not turn it off, but just go to standby, it will be completely discharged in one day.
Wi-Fi off, firmware check, automatic time update also turned off.
What could be the reason for a quick dive.
It is said to behave like an Inkpad 3 in terms of energy saving. I have such a device and it is impeccable in this regard.
Idea? Advice?

PocketBook Touch Lux 3 ( 626 ) not saving any changes

Hej,

A week ago my PocketBook started loading on a specific book/page every time I boot it. Whenever I try to wipe it or do a factory reset, part of the process it to reboot, so it just ends up loading that specific page. Whatever new changes I make, like adding or deleting files, they are not saved, somehow it just restores to that specific state. There has been no SD card and no back-ups made

The firmware is from 2015, I downloaded the latest one to try and update it but
- if it's on the device, as mentioned above, when unplugged from the computer it "reboots" and the update file is gone
- if it's on an SD card it gets to about 25% of the update and boots the pocketbook, again it just loads to the specific page and that's it

I tried deleting various cache files and what not, but it's always the same. I tried looking for some way to do a hard reset but I haven't had any luck so far either. Do you have any suggestions?

I'm tempted to just wipe everything from it, but I'm afraid I will just end up with a rather ugly glass coaster

I got it as a "second hand" present and my friend hasn't used it for atleast a year, it was OK for the first month and now this, so I don't expect to receive any help from the suppliers either

PocketBook Reader App not syncing

I installed PocketBook Reader App ok my iOS 12 device.
I'd like to Sync using PocketBook Cloud.
But there is no PocketBook Cloud option at settings.

So whats up with that?

Then I tried to Sync with Dropbox.
The PocketBook HD touch 3 syncs to Dropbox.
But again, the app fails to Sync anything.

What's going wrong?
